Hey everybody!
This week we worked our butts off everyday but nothing got done. Every Sunday night our district leader calls to get our numbers for the week to see how we did. We reported that we got zeros for everything. Everybody keeps telling us that no effort is wasted, but it is kinda hard to see the rewards when we can't even teach a lesson to anybody. Nobody seems to want to here about the gospel here in Bloomington.
As you all know, last week I was feeling a little down and homesick. You'll be glad to know that I am getting over that, thanks to my companion and my mission president. Yesterday President Collins came down to Bloomington for sacrament meeting so that he could talk to both of us. I love President Collins, he is such an inspired and loving man. He made me feel so much better about being out here and to not worry about how things are going here and to just keep working. He said that sometime soon he is going to be making some changes to the mission and he is going to show the missionaries that we can have fun while serving the Lord. President Collins also talked to Greg. Greg used to be an investigator but has asked that we don't come by his house anymore. Greg is gay and doesn't want to change and he lives with another man. He also comes to church every Sunday and has told us on several occasions that he has a testimony of the Book of Mormon and of the church. So President Collins asked me if Greg would be open to talking with him. I said that he probably would. He then asked well if he doesn't want to talk with missionaries why would he talk with me? I'm like a missionary on steroids! President Collins is awesome! President Collins is also a lawyer which makes him that much more of a better missionary, and he is the number 1 lawyer for the church in Utah. We don't know how their conversation went but Greg looked like he was in deep thought after church.
The only thing I can say now is that transfers can't come soon enough. I want to get out of this area and go somewhere that the people are willing to talk with us.
