Hey there,
So my week was good and it sounds like your was too. Well there was one bad thing. So you remember our recent convert David Bonbrake that we baptized a few weeks ago? Well we had an appointment set up to go see him in the afternoon a few days ago and everything before hand fell through so we thought we would go over a little early. So we drove over there and much to our surprise we saw him on his neighbors porch smoking. If you want to feel let down like never before, watch your recent convert smoke, that will do it. It was definitely inspired though, cause if we had not caught him, he would never have told anybody. So now he is meeting with the bishop, and hopefully that will fix the problem.
Kevin Hagan's baptism went fantastic! Elder Goodwin baptized him and I gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. In my talk I read the words to hymn number 143, which I think really meant a lot to him. It was the first time in Elder Goodwin's 23 months that he had baptized somebody on his mission, and he was nervous. He said "it's supposed to be the members job to baptized people". And I said "not when they ask us to do it". Brother Hagan was confirmed a member of the church yesterday and he said that it was really powerful. And his wife Kathy surprised everybody when she showed up. It was the first time she came to church and she stayed for all 3 hours. So hopefully she will keep coming back for more.
Last night we had a sweet awesome thunder and lightning storm with heavy rain, and we got to ride our bikes through it. You haven't experienced a thunder and lightning storm until you have been in one in Indiana. When there was lightning, it lit up the whole sky, it is beautiful. The thunder was so loud. Before the storm hit it was nice and warm. When it started rolling in, the temperature drastically changed and cooled down. We were soaked head to toe by the time we got back to the apartment. It was a good experience.
We were tracting in a trailer park this week and this one lady was like "it is illegal to solicit in here". And said what we always do, which is "we aren't solicitors". So we walked off her porch and she followed us down and she said she was calling the cops. She bluffed. We waited around and no police showed up. So that was my week. Hope everybody's was just as eventful as mine.
Love,
Elder Robertson
