19 September 2011

Hey Mom,

So we got transfer calls this morning and I am getting transferred. I kind of have mixed feelings about it because I have gotten attached to the ward here and the investigators, but I would also like a change in scenery and a new companion, this one is starting to get on my nerves.

So Parker told me all about his new teachers and about how Mr. Gerig still remembers me, and I'm sure Dave Ware still remembers me too. They were definitely a great help to me and I told Parker that, and I told him accept any help from them that he can because they are very forgiving.

So I had one of the most tender moments of my life yesterday. So one of our investigators spoke at the Why I Believe fireside. This investigator is a little autistic but he is most definitely not retarded. He wrote out his testimony and he was going to read it to everybody, even though he can't read very well. So right before it is his turn to go up, he looks back at me and says, "Robertson, you have to come up there and help me". So I did. I felt as I am sure parents do when they help their children read things over the pulpit. After we sat down he looked back at me and said thank you. His forehead was a little sweaty cause I am sure he was super nervous. I love him more than anybody else I have met out here, if I could adopt somebody to be my brother, it would be him. If I don't get transferred too far away, I will get to baptize him this Saturday.

But the rest of this week has been filled with lots of finding activities which have been unsuccessful in getting new investigators. We have done lots of less active work during these 3 months I have been with Elder Empey. We have gotten 3 less-active members to come back to church, none of which are related to each other. One of them lives with a girlfriend. Another is married to a non-member who may quite possibly be interested in listening to us, we haven't tried to get him to sit in on the lessons yet but he is very friendly to us. The last one is gay and we are trying to help him over come that. I guess we just caught all of them at the right time in their lives and they were sufficiently prepared to come back to church. It has been so great to see them progress over this short time that we have met with them. Miracles are everywhere.

So that is pretty much all I have to report on right now but it has been a pretty good week.

Love,
Elder Robertson
