Hey Mom,
So my week was pretty good. Neither of us got transferred, I forgot to tell you last week that it was transfers week...Oops. I just can't keep track of anything anymore. But as you heard, we are moving apartments tomorrow. It is definitely a better apartment and it will smell a lot nicer as well because there is a family from India that lives next door so we get to smell their cooking. Although it is not as good of a location as this run down apartment is. But oh well, I will just have to live with it. I am going to miss those people in there as well, even though they were rowdy and loud and had bad habits, they loved us.
We have no idea what is going to happen on Super Bowl Sunday, because it will be super ineffective to proselyte because everybody will be watching the game. Last year was different because it wasn't here, but now that it is here, there will be pandemonium. It will be interesting.
So like you heard we had set a baptism date for that 9 year old, but now he says he doesn't know if he wants to get baptized or not. He is just being a very difficult 9 year old, just as they usually are. But he keeps changing every time we go over there, so we will see what happens.
We had a lesson, sort of, with a former investigator. We talked with him for a little while and got to know him and his past experience with the missionaries. He had read a little bit of the Book of Mormon but got bored very quickly, so he stopped reading. So we asked what would keep his attention. He said "wars, blood, and gore!" So we were like, we can show you everywhere in the Book of Mormon that you can find that stuff. So next time we go over there we will have a list of those chapters and we will give him the background on those chapters so he won't be totally lost when they refer to other people in the Book of Mormon. He has also had lots of dreams about just crazy weird stuff. One of them that he described in detail was pretty much what the Spirit World is. The way he explained it wasn't the way we explain it, but it was very, very similar. He told us other dreams he has had and it was a strange feeling when he was telling us about some of them. But he seems like he could progress very well if we can keep his interest, because he said that he loses that very easily, so we will probably have to relate things to his dreams because he holds onto those very strongly.
Do you remember how before I got emergency transferred the first time that I was with one of the elders that came out with me? Well that same elder is now in my district! Now there are 3 of us that came out together in the same district, we are just in different companionships. It is pretty cool.
So that is pretty much my week in a nutshell.

Hey Mom,
So this weeks weather was crazy. We had a thunder storm early on in the week. Then we kinda had a mini ice storm. Now we are having more rain and last night was really warm, I didn't even need my over coat. Indiana weather is just crazy.
This week was a little better than the last one. We met with a lot of less-active members. I have been told that missionaries have done that a lot in the past. It seems like that is all we can do because we can't seem to get any new investigators. Oh well. But the ward is starting to trust us more and more. We have gotten a few referrals from members this week which has been awesome. Even though they didn't pan out so well, it is great to know that people are starting to trust the missionaries. We have to give talks on this coming Sunday. I am going to talk mostly to the youth for the first part and talk about the missionary schedule, Preach My Gospel, White Handbook, and the missionary calling. Then I am going to talk to everybody about Preach My Gospel because it seems like everybody thinks that it is only for missionaries which is completely and 100% false. So I am going to help them see how Preach My Gospel can apply to them and help them in any way they need. I have been in most of these families homes so I have been able to see that this is what I should speak on. I have never been pumped up to give a talk in sacrament meeting before, but I am for this one. It is gonna be awesome.
It makes me very happy that I made some sort of an impression on the kids I played Lacrosse with. I hope I still have my skills when I come home so I can keep up with Mitchell.

Elder Robertson

Dear family,
So my week was okay. We had a few more things going on than past weeks. So that was nice. I played basketball this morning with a bunch of elders and members of the church around here. So that was fun. Sunday we had our ward conference. We had a lesson with a nine year old. Our first lesson with him was crazy because he wouldn't sit still. This lesson was better because I bribed him with a candy bar. Thank you for all the pictures you sent me of the house with all our stuff in it, that really helped me. Thank you for everything mom, you're the greatest! I love you! bye!

Hey Mom,
So this week was another slow one. That little 10 year old we were meeting with on and off dropped us. Her mom is hot and cold when it comes to church, the bishop told us it doesn't surprise him at all that this is happening. We did meet with the 9 year old, but he is super ADHD and can't sit still at all. He got up so many times in the middle of the lesson for just random stuff, kinda like Parker. The girl who went on a mission, 2 of her sisters came to church on Sunday, and it was the first time in a long time that they have been to church. That was pretty cool that we got to witness that.
I am glad you are happy with the new house, I would like to see pics of all of our stuff in there one of these days. So I bought a Lacrosse stick last week like I said I would, I was going to by some gloves as well but all of them that they had there were like 90 dollars and up. So I just got the stick. I want to swing by Play it again sports to see if they have any gloves there. Time to start practicing.
So we have presidents interviews tomorrow. I am pretty excited about that. After everything that has happened since the last interview, I am sure it is going to be a good one.
Well I don't really have anything else to report on, the work is really slow again, just like last winter.
I am doing pretty good, although I have been extra tired these past few days for some reason. Me and my companion are doing well, we get along just fine. I heard that the elder that plays lacrosse in my zone got emergency transferred because one of their investigators was writing them love letters. Today we were going to play ping pong first thing but that didn't work out. I am excited about interviews because it seems like forever since I have had one. We haven't had snow since last Monday. We are teaching the 9 year old, I told you about him already. We haven't played trouble yet. I don't really know what kind of weather I want anymore. I complained all through the summer, and I found myself complaining about the cold. So I don't know or care about weather anymore.
Love,
Elder Robertson

3 January 2012!!!
Hey!
So we got our first real snow of the winter yesterday. It was coming down so hard, it was awesome. So yesterday was an awesome P-Day. We ate at Buffalo Wild Wings, played basketball and dodge ball with the zone. Then I discovered that one of the elders in my zone played lacrosse back home and we talked for a while about that, that was pretty awesome. He said that if I got a stick he could string it for me, so today for part of break I am going over to Dick's sporting good and I am going to pick out a stick. So don't be surprised when you see some money missing from my account.
So the work hasn't quite picked up yet, although it has been the holidays still. So we didn't really get any lessons or anything spectacular to report on unfortunately. We had a couple of visits with less-active/inactive members so that was kinda cool. The probably coolest part of the week was Sunday. We got invited to a 9 year old's birthday party who hasn't been baptized yet. He has an older sister who is entering the MTC tomorrow and going to temple square in Salt Lake City. So we talked with her for a little while and answered the questions that she had. The cool thing is, that she was inactive and came back to activity in the church and is now going on a mission, I can't imagine how much courage that change must have taken. Anyways, I was impressed by that.
So that was pretty much the only cool thing that happened that I can remember. I hope the move went well and that nothing got broke or lost.
Happy Birthday!!

27 December 2011
Hey!
So the day after Christmas Elder Kovatch, Elder Luster, my companion Elder Bushman, and I went to the zoo with a family from the ward. The zoo wasn't near as big or fantastic as the one in Oregon. But the best part of the zoo was obviously the part where I got to pet sharks. It was legendary! I got a video of me petting sharks on that video camera. Just forewarning though, I am not very good at petting sharks and pointing the camera directly at it at the same time. But it was still pretty awesome. They felt really smooth and kinda soft. Unfortunately there was somebody there watching people to make sure they didn't do anything with the sharks, otherwise I would have picked one up out of the water. It was fun anyways. They also had flamingos there, and cheetahs, and an ostrich. They had some awesome snakes too, they were pretty sweet. They also had lemurs, like from madagascar. They put on quite the show. The lions were pretty cool too, they had one male and 2 females. So the was overall pretty awesome. My favorite part was obviously the shark petting zoo.
I had a lot of fun talking to all of you on Christmas and listening to your voices and hearing what you have been up to. Next time I hear your voices it will be mothers day. BTW the house that we are moving into looks pretty good, it is going to be very weird going home to that big house and not to the littler house from which I left. I hope you leave me a cool room! Go crazy! Floss!
Love,
Elder Robertson

Hey Mom,
So on Christmas we have church from 11-12:30. Then that is really all we have planned out as of right now. We are going to call some people to see if they will let us come over on Christmas. So hopefully that works out. People have invited us over for Christmas Eve but not Christmas, oh well. We might have breakfast at our ward mission leaders apartment in the morning but that is as far as we have planned, and we may not even go there because we don't like him very much.
So I can't remember the time difference between here and there, so you will have to remind me.
If everybody would like to talk to me I would love talking to them. I don't know if I knew this or not, but is Uncle Scott and Aunt Beth members? I am just asking so I don't ask any questions that would make the phone call awkward.
So I think that was pretty cool that you gave my address to Sister Wease(that's weird to say), hopefully she writes me, I think that would be awesome.
And sorry for emailing so late in the day, Elder Von Strahl took over and made us go to the church first and then go shopping and emailing. So you can blame him for any inconveniences.
So I realized half way through the week that I forgot to tell you about transfers and what not. So I didn't get transferred and neither did Elder Von Strahl(unfortunately). But we had to go to transfers to pick up a third elder(Elder Bushman). And I finally made it to senior companion! YEAH!! So I have been driving since Wednesday and it has been pretty cool, it has been a long time since I have driven regularly. But now that I am senior and Elder Von Strahl isn't, he has been coasting off of Elder Bushman and I and he hasn't been doing anything to help us out. So I told President Collins about it in my email today, and if he doesn't change soon I am going to have a coming to Christ chat with him.
So that is pretty much all I can think of to say right now, if I missed anything then message me back.
Yes I did get the 2 boxes you sent, thank you so much! BTW I opened the CD ones because I wanted to hear more Christmas music before Christmas, but there wasn't any. Those are the only things I opened. And I don't mean to sound rude or needy or anything, but will I get another calendar for this year? I think 9 would probably be too late cause I would still need to plan out the next day. I will be calling on Christmas Eve like last year to set things up, I will know more by then. You don't need to call Sister Collins, we will figure everything out.
The name of my ward is called Indianapolis 1st ward
Love,
Elder Robertson

Hey Family!
So this week was really slow again. We didn't have any lessons with any investigators this week. Just 3 lessons with less active members. My companion and I are doing everything we know how to do and we still aren't having the success we would like to see. But maybe this is the quiet before the storm. Like Harvey Dent said "The night is always darkest before the dawn." So we still pray that we will be getting more teaching opportunities this week. I know that my mission president trusts me, but this is a very dead area he sent me to, to try and revive it. That means a lot of work has to be done.
So we went on exchanges this week and I stayed in my area with the district leaders companion and my companion went with the district leader in his area. I had to plan out a day all by myself for 2 days straight after having only been here for 2 weeks. It was a little tough, but I think I did alright. We did a lot of going by potential investigators and tracting. We did get a couple of appointments set up for this week though, so that was sweet. After my companion and I were reunited, he told me that the district leader asked him if he thought I could train a new missionary. And he said yes. Then the district leader said that the zone leaders told him to ask that. So it sounds like I may be training in the upcoming transfers. It kinda freaks me out, I used to think I wanted to do that, but now that it might happen, it is a little scary. That is the most important assignment that could be given in the mission field is what the mission president says.
So you are probably wondering what the title of my email means. So on our exchanges, my companion (Elder Von Strahl) and my district leader(Elder Kovach) were biking down a path to get somewhere and they saw a lady sitting on the ground. So they asked if they could help. She said that her now ex-boyfriend used to beat her and that he is now in jail. And they could tell that this lady was obviously drunk. So they offered to take walk her to where she needed to go and she accepted the help. So they are walking her down this path and she fell down a few times and she asked why they were helping her, so they said they were nice people. So when they finally got to where she needed to be she kissed them both on the cheek(with some effort cause they tried to pull away) then she asked how she could repay them. So they said she didn't need to. So she said that she usually pays people with sex. They were like no, no, that alright, you don't have to do that. So they left and the lady went to sleep on the lawn. The end.

Hey Mom!
So this week was really slow, I have had slower ones, but it was still pretty bad. We had one lesson with an investigator and a few more with less-actives. And the one investigator moved out of the ward, so now we are down to a few investigator who we were told were solid before we came in, but we haven't even met them yet and we have been here almost 2 weeks now. Although it was Thanksgiving week and weekend so that may have had something to do with it. Oh well.
So I don't have much of anything to report. I do not drive my companion does, we bike a little bit but we have been doing a lot of walking, I do like my companion but he is pretty controlling, when he wants to do something, he does it and convinces me if I don't want to, and yes we had a dinner on Thanksgiving. We went to a families get together, but we had to leave early cause the old person that brought us had to go take their meds. At the dinner I got to meet the ward mission leader of the Zionsville branch and I hope I get to serve there before I go cause that family is pretty awesome. I don't get to play dodgeball anymore because I am out of the zone that we played dodgeball in, so now just us and 2 more companionships get together to play basketball. It's alright, but not as fun as dodgeball. This might be the time that I email you, but who knows, last week we left right away and this week my companion made us stay in the apartment until 12:00 to play poker, so I don't know for sure if this will be the time that I email.
That is pretty surprising that Bishop Jones is being released. I bet Bro. Hornibrook will take his place.
In your talk you can tell the ward that I am so grateful for the support that they have given me and still give me, that I am grateful for the cards and gifts they have sent me and I am sorry for not replying to them or sending a thank you note, I am really bad at that.
So for Christmas all I can think of for you to send me is just more ties, that is all I can really think of besides all the stuff we have already talked about. How about a CD or 2 or however many you want to send me of by Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, MoTab, Alex Boye, and any other cool spiritual CD's, maybe some cool classical music, and I need another CD case. Just make sure they are spiritual based before sending them.
So I just remembered how long I have been out and it blew my mind. I will have been out 14 months tomorrow, and this will be my second Christmas out here. I can't believe it.
Today we will probably go out to eat then go play basketball.

Hey Mom,
So let me brighten up your day a bit.
So last week I told you to not send anything to me because I might be moving, right? So President Collins came to the church while we were playing dodgeball to talk to Elder Walburger and then me. So he talked to Elder Walburger because he wanted to make sure that he was going to stay on his mission because his grandpa has cancer and probably won't live through it. So after Elder Walburger told him that he would stay on his mission, he called me in. So he has given me this special assignment to open the Indy first ward again after some missionaries were "hangout missionaries" with members. So my new companion and I got double transferred in here 2 weeks into the transfer and we have been told to mend fences and create better relationships with the members. So President Collins told us that this would be the most important transfer of our missions. I continually marvel at how much trust and faith President Collins has in me and Elder Von Strahl(my new comp). So before I got moved down here, I went on an exchange with Elder White, who was my zone leader before I moved. He said that President Collins thinks I am dependable and that he is probably preparing me for leadership. Also, President Collins is going to make me senior companion after this transfer and give me an elder who just got done being trained. So I guess President Collins thinks a lot more highly of me than I thought he did, which I am very grateful for. I have had 3 companions this transfer, weird.
So my new companions name is Elder Von Strahl, from Medford, Oregon. We were so excited that we were from the same state and we got put together, it's awesome. When people ask where we are from, we both say Oregon. There is a couple who we just had dinner with last night who got married in the Portland temple, the wife is from West Lynn. Me and my companion gave talks in sacrament meeting yesterday. The ward is so excited to have missionaries back in their ward.
My new address is: 7062 Madison Ave apt. B9

I replied this to you in an email but I am just going to make sure you get it, I do have a way to watch DVD's in the apartment, but after some thought, the CD's would be better so we could listen to them in the car.
You asked for suggestions for your talk. I think talking about the roles of both the missionaries and the ward members, Preach My Gospel spells it out very clearly what everybody's role is in chapter 13, that would be a great source to find things to talk on. Definitely reference to Preach My Gospel in your talk. Chapter 3 has the doctrine of the missionary lessons. Chapter 4 teaches you to follow the spirit. Chapter5 is all about the Book of Mormon. Chapter 8 shows you how to set inspired goals. Chapter 10 is how to improve your teaching skills. Preach My Gospel was written in heaven and assembled on earth. Alma has many great missionary stories to talk about. Hope I gave you enough to work with!
Love,
Elder Robertson
P.S. I forgot my camera at the apartment, I will have to get the pics to you next week, sorry.

Hi son!!
Happy Thanksgiving week!! I'm excited to find out where you are this Monday!! Give me the deets!!! :)
Well....the BIG news around here is that the Ducks lost to stupid usc (which I will not capitolize because they don't deserve to be capitolized). They were ahead the entire game. In the last few minutes we intercepted, at this point it was a 3 pt. game (38-35). We waited until the last minute to try and get a td, but ended up kicking a field goal. Maldanodo missed. I feel really bad for him. So we are out of natty contention, and I'm not sure that we will be hosting the PAC 12 championship anymore (which is sad cuz we had tickets to it). but people who know more about football crap than me having been posting on fb that it looks like we will be going to the rose bowl. stupid usc. Jerks. Ugh!
Well, Park and I are at the beach. It was NOT fun getting her! We came down Saturday morning. It had snowed up in the pass and it was super scary! I slipped a couple times going down hill and forgot my traction devices. Dad said my tires were fine, but the slipping assured me that they were not fine. Luckily, I am an awesome driver ;) and I got things under control. When we leave to go home on Tuesday, I am not going back that way! We will got thru Astoria and past where you had some forestry comps. I woke up to beautiful clear blue skies here, so I went for a walk on the beach. When I got down there, the sand was covered in a blanket of white frost and was frozen! It was nice to walk on the soft sand when it was frozen-much easier! This afternoon we went to Ecola and watched 11 elk about 40 yards away eatting lots of green grass. I was shooting them with a camera and dad and Rick were in eastern OR trying to 'shoot' them with a gun! i like mine better!! We have the beach until the following friday, so we go back Tuesday, then dad, Park and I will come back down this Friday after Tgiving. Unfortunately, Hail and Mitch have to work. I sure miss the days when we all could come down here. Oh well, that's life!
So dad is hunting. I havn't been able to get texts from anyone today, so I'm not sure where he is or if he got anything. Yesterday he said, lots of snow, no elk. I'm sure he will update you in his letter.
Brown asked dad and I to talk in 2 sundays on missionary work. I don't think I've spoken since your farewell. If there is anything you would like me to share with the ward, let me know!!
HEY, how is that mustache picture coming??? I need it! I want to get the Christmas cards done early this year. We have the cabin the 21-23 of December and I will be out of town the 5-9, so I want to get stuff in order. I also need to know if you want dvd or audio of conference. I still need to know that. I've asked you like a bizzilion times. :) Also, if you want/need anything else, LMK.
Oh, so they actually are building a tiny house in the blackberry patch behind the beach house. I thought it would be way small and stupid, but it's kinda cute and they didn't block out view of the ocean if you look out the kitchen window. If the workers are there tomorrow, I want to see if they will let Park and I go inside. So wied that there's a house there. We will miss the blackberries, won't we?
Time is just flying by. I mean incredibly fast. Park and I were talking today about how excited we are to talk to you on Chirstmas! Maybe skype! I can't wait!!!
Well, can't wait to hear all about your week and what the pres said and why he split you up and the fun things you are going to do today!! Much love to you, Elder Brogy!!!!
Have a fab week!

Hey!
So this week has been going by very fast even though the work is moving slowly here in the Indy 2 area. We had a total of 5 lessons compared to the 14 lessons we usually have here. We dropped one of our investigators that we have been meeting with for a few months because he hasn't remembered anything that has been taught to him and he said he wouldn't give up smoking. So we dropped him. We have been doing a lot of driving and a lot of going by less-active members. There were a few people that said we could come back and talk with them, maybe we will be able to re-activate them! We impressed the High Priest Group Leader when we told him one of the people said we could come back because they have gone by that person multiple times and they were never there. We also met some Robertsons who moved here from Seaside, Oregon. Maybe we are related? It was pretty cool. But they weren't interested in us coming back. Oh well.
So this trio that I am in probably won't last through the week. President Collins is going to talk with us today. I am a little nervous about who will be going and who will stay. But whatever happens, I know it is what the Lord wants. You may not want to send anything yet, in case I get moved somewhere else.
We also had a zone conference this week which was really cool. President Collins is definitely one of the greatest speakers I have ever heard. He is probably going to be a general authority some day. He was talking about a bunch of stuff related to cosmology(not cosmetology) and the sun. It was mind-boggling how much he new about space and the universe. I can't remember how he tied it in to the gospel but he did, and it was pretty amazing.
We had a good lesson with Paul and his son Eli on Friday. Eli had read a few chapters in the Book of Mormon(he got the app on his IPhone), We also got Paul a large print Book of Mormon with the Doctrine+Covenants and Pearl of Great Price. He was super excited and grateful for it. Eli was excited to report on his reading which was super cool, and he brought a lady friend over and we got to teach her a little bit. We are going back on Tuesday to teach all three of them, can't wait!
So that was pretty much the highlights of the week.
Love,
Elder Robertson

3 October 2011 (this is out of order! Sorry!)
Hey!
So this week was kinda slow. All we did was go by investigators and set up appointments and a lot of bike riding, my legs are killing me. But now we have a lot of appointments this week so I should have a lot to report on next week.
So basically this was the best General Conference ever! I hope you boys were listening to Elder Holland's talk at priesthood meeting on Saturday night, that was the biggest rebuke I have ever heard. If you don't remember it, watch it again! Elder Holland is definitely one of my favorite general authorities. I also liked Elder Scott's and President Packer's talks. Because of Elder Scott's talk I want to memorize scriptures that are meaningful to me so I can unlock more revelation. President Packer's was awesome because he related to all of the youth of the church and told me that he knew what I was going through because he has been in the same situations. I loved that poem he shared about the old and young crows. President Monson was so energenic this time. It amazes me that someone his age, with all of the responsibilities he has can stay so cheerful and energenic. There is no other explaination than that he is a prophet of God.
I am sorry I don't have much to report, but not much happened since we last talked. I hope you all enjoyed General Conference because I sure did!
Love,
Elder Robertson

Hey Mom!
This morning we had to proselyte from 10 to 1. Then pday is the rest of the night, but we have to stay inside from 6 until we go to sleep. So we are going to order a pizza.
So We got transfer calls this morning and my companion is getting transferred and is going zone leader and I am staying here, still junior companion as far as I know. I am glad I get to stay though because this area has been exploding this last week. So this means I will be here for Thanksgiving this year.
If that talk by Elder Holland is the one when he talks about the last chapter in John at the end of his talk, then yes I have seen it, but only the part when he talks about that chapter. I was actually going to see if you could get that for me on a DVD so I could watch it out here. Also, If you could get the last general conference on DVD, I would love that as well. I also wanted to ask for a CD by Alex Boye named Spirit. Those are some of the things I wanted for Christmas. I figure I had better tell you before I forget.
By the way, we loved the package you sent. Elder Thomas was excited to have one of those Duck cups, and he loved the candy. Thank you so much!
So this week we got 4 new investigators, it has been awesome. One of them we found just by tracting and he let us in right there. Another one we found when we drove up to this apartment complex. As we were parking, this guy walked past our car, so we got out and talked to him. Come to find out he was shot 6 times last year and was humbled greatly because of it. So we got to teach him right then and there. Another person we met a little while ago but we finally got to teach him this week. The last person we met a little while ago as well. She is very sick with a bunch of stuff. So we offered a blessing and she excitedly accepted it. But she didn't have a man in the house at the time, so we came back the next day and gave her a blessing. She was very grateful for it.
Also, when we were driving back to our apartment with a member after the trunk or treat at the church, this guys two daughters told us something awesome. They have this friend who is super interested in the gospel! They were telling us of all these experiences they had with their friend, and they were telling us like their friend was weird for asking all of these questions. So we told them to keep us updated and to invite her to church so we could meet her. They even brought up the idea to invite their friend to their house and bring us over so we can teach her. They are awesome missionaries. I think they know that their friend can join the church, but I don't think they fully realize that if she meets with us that she will become a member of the church.
One more thing and I will be done. So the bishop here enlightened our minds about something. So he said that the member are pretty good about sharing the gospel, which is totally true. But, he said that they weren't very good at inviting them to do things, such as coming to church, mutual, or meeting with us. Nobody would join the church if they weren't invited to do so. Invitations are critical if we want this church to grow.
So that is pretty much all I have this week.

Hey Mom!
So I had no idea Charlotte was going to serve a mission, and that is so awesome that she is going to Ukraine. Go Charlotte!
So to answer your question about my companion. His name is Elder Thomas, he is from Idaho, he is a lot of fun to serve with. I am his first companion that isn't from Utah, booyah! I am still making videos on that camcorder, I don't really have very much time to make them, and when I do have time I am just so tired that I don't want to do anything but sit or lay down. Sorry it is taking me so long. I forgot to tell you that I would love to have one of those shirts that says Run LMJ, that would be so awesome! BTW, I met the Tenny's last night at Why I Believe! I talked with them for like 10 minutes, it was really cool. They are in the ward directly north of mine.
So a little about my week. A lot of our investigators dropped us or we dropped them. We are going to be dropping another one here pretty soon if he doesn't won't to live the Word of Wisdom or the Law of Chastity, and he needs to clean up his language. When we taught him the Word of Wisdom, he called Joseph Smith a "dumb *". I don't think he really means a lot of the things he says because he is always drunk, I have never seen him sober cause he drinks wine all the time. So we might drop him pretty soon if he doesn't start quitting some of this stuff. He kind of confuses us though because he comes to church and reads the Book of Mormon, we just don't know what to do with him. One of our investigators dropped us because he was gay and discovered that we don't agree with that, so that was that. We dropped one because he takes forever to answer questions and he won't give us straight answers. We literally sat there in silence for 5 minutes or longer, waiting for him to answer a question. We had a lesson with a guy who is totally comfortable telling us every single thing he has done in his life, including attempting to kill his wife. He is totally crazy, he used to be a drug addict but he has cleaned up a lot. He has a lot of potential though, we gave him a Book of Mormon and he said he would read it and pray about it and about Joseph Smith. I finally got to make my mormon.org profile on Saturday, so it should be up sometime next week. Have you made yours yet? We are starting to do a lot of less active/part-member family work, we found a few sweet part-member families on Saturday that we may have some success with, I am excited.
So that was pretty much my week in an egg shell.

Dear missionary parents and families, A couple of weeks ago, after a leadership meeting over at the mission home, Elders Renfro, Knight, Robertson, Simmons, Downs, and Walburger came over to the mission office. They were all in such a good mood that I grabbed my camera and took some pictures. The spirits of these missionaries just really show thru in the pictures so I thought that their families might enjoy seeing these pictures. I just want all of you to know how much we appreciate these wonderful missionaries.

Hey Family!
The weeks just keep on going. It's funny how weeks back home seemed so long, but out here they go by like it is one big blur. I can't remember what days I did things on because it seems like one long day. Some funny things happened this week. So I will tell you a story or two.
So in Elders Quorum yesterday, the lesson was a train wreck! I am so glad none of our investigators were there or else we would have lost them forever. The lesson was supposed to be on the spirit world but got way out of hand. I am not going to tell you exactly what was said because I know who will see this email, so I will just say that a bunch of deep doctrine was brought up. A lot of the things that were said weren't even true, just made up stuff from the teacher. One of the guys there stood up and walked out after he had told everyone to get off the subject, after he said what he said, people attacked him(with words). It was the worst lesson I have ever been in, I was astonished beyond all measure, like Alma when he saw the way the Zoramites prayed. That guy is probably not going to teach again.
Another story. So earlier this week we went and tried by a less-active member after some plans had fallen through. They didn't answer. So while we were on the door step, a guy came out of his apartment across the parking lot to have a cigarette. So we went and talked to him. He was the funniest guy I have ever met. He was kinda making fun of us but it was just light humor and we knew he didn't mean any harm by it. He was talking about aliens and how we believe Joseph Smith came from another planet(not true BTW). I won't say any more of the stuff he said cause he used lots of foul language.
So enough funny business, lets hear some good stuff. So I told you how we were dropping investigators left and right. We are finally being blessed for it. We have received a few promising referrals and some cool potentials. So we are going to be having a lot of people to try by in the upcoming week. And we have a full time car now, so we can go to the outer reaches of our area more often to try by some less-actives and part member families. So that is really all I have to report on this week.
So far today we have cleaned the car, shopped, and gone to Steak N' Shake. We will go and play dodgeball after this. So I just emailed Parker and I hope he takes what I said constructively.

Hi Mom!
So today has been fun so far. We went and cleaned the car and then went to a chinese place and got free food because a member owns it, awesome. Then we had to go buy some dodgeballs cause somebody stole them last week, so we didn't even get to play last week! it was super dumb! So today I am going to hit somebody in the face to release my anger. DODGEBALL!!!!
So I am going to tell you of the coolest miracle ever that happened this week. So we have been doing some inspired tracting lately. It is where you pick out an area where you will be at that time frame and then you and your companion pray by yourselves and choose a street by yourself and come together and see what each other came up with. So we haven't been able to choose the same street the first try ever since we started doing it. But on saturday we got it on the first try. So as we were doing our inspired tracting, the second door we knocked on was where the miracle happened. So this old lady comes to the door with a walker and she is super nice to us. she tells us of how she met with missionaries previously in another place, went to church and everything. But her husband didn't know she had done this, so when he found out, he was mad. So she had to stop meeting with the missionaries. So we asked if we could come back another time to chat and she said no because she is still married to that same husband. So we were like "dang it!" So we asked if there was anything we could do for her. She said "well, you could heal my leg". So we look at each other and were like "we can do that". So she goes on and talks about how she broke her leg and it would take about a year to heal. So we finally asked if she would like a blessing. Without hesitation she accepted it. So we stepped inside and had her sit down and we gave her a blessing. In the blessing, many things were promised to her according to her faith. So after it was all done, her face was wet with tears. So she thanked us and sent us on our way. It was one of the coolest experiences of my mission, even though we may not be going back there anytime soon, we probably made a huge impact on her for the church. I know with all my heart that it was meant to be that we went there at that time, it was amazing! Maybe we just need to pray for her husband to die or something so she can receive the gospel and get baptized. Just kidding. Anyways, that is my awesome experience of the week, hope you liked it.
Well that is really all I can remember about my week right now, that experience just blows my mind every time I think about it.
